I really love not only the new Flixel website, but also the way it links to the rival flash library Flashpunk (and it’s linked back). This kind of development doesn’t need harsh competition, but fair play and love. Kudos to Adam and Chevy.
[For my italian friends, I talked about the two libraries on Flow]

Cheers! Someone dropped me this link so I thought I’d drop in and say thanks, there really is lots of love in the 2D Flash libraries circle here. Actually, the recent affiliation was sparked by Adam and I talking over IM about designing a new website focused entirely on 2D Flash game development, which would link out to both libraries, but have more focused content and design articles within. There’s a bit of an open discussion on it in both the Flixel (http://flixel.org/forums/index.php?topic=960.0) and FlashPunk (http://flashpunk.net/forums/index.php?topic=152.0) forums.
Have a good one!
Chev
Fantastic… I am about to decide which one to use to rapidly prototype some games I have in mind… but didn’t know about this. A very, very good example of fair ‘competition’!
Federico, where goes your preference among the two?
Chevy: thanks! You guys are making an extraordinary work, here. And being a designer with little coding experience I really appreciate the approach of these libraries. I will check the forums out ASAP, and maybe contribute :)
Ciro: I effectively used only Flixel (which was out before flashpunk) to do a little game myself. I recently downloaded Flashpunk also, and I have to say they are both pretty good libraries. You should definitely check out both and then decide.
